Wednesday Feb. 23rd, 1994:
Woookie is founded over lunch at ‘Bogarts’ restaurant on the 2nd floor of the Galleria. Jeff Dodge gets Dan Palodichuk to agree to be the front man of the band, Woookie. Brad Brant is a witness.
December 3rd, 1994:
Woookie opens for Roger Nusic at the Mt. Tabor Pub, Portland, Oregon. Dan Palodichuk on Vocals, Jeff Dodge on Guitar / Vocals, Chris Soine on Bass, and Thatcher Dennison on Drums.
A cover of Bonnie Tyler's "Total Eclipse of the Heart" becomes a popular request around town.
Feb. 4th – 5th. 1995:
Woookie records their debut cassette, “ Karen the Chimp”. Engineered by Cord Amato of Cock-Eyed Studios (also guitarist for Her Number 13). Cover design inspired by Matt Cartwright. Hit songs include "Praising the Lord" (a song about Hawaii 5-0 and Jack Lord), and "Working for the Empire" .
July 12th, 1995:
Woookie’s last show was at the Egyptian Tomb. By that point, the lineup had shifted to Steve Cebula on Bass, Chris Soine on rhythm guitar, and Jeff wearing only his Lead Guitar and Dan Palodichuk in Tighty Whities for the final performance.
Within days, Soine and Dennison join Flaps Down and Palodichuk & Dodge shifted gears towards The Harlequin.
